Kennington Women's Institute
Formed in 1918
Kennington Women's Institute was formed in 1918 and now has over 120 members. The Women's Institute which was formed in 1915, is the largest organisation for women in the UK with 215,000 members in 7,000 W.I's.
We aim to enable women from all backgrounds to come together and provide an effective role within their community, to pass on and learn important skills and develop their knowledge.
We certainly feel that the W.I. is just as important now in the 21st century as it was when it was formed in 1915, when it brought women together during the war years.
Kennington W.I. has many interesting and fun groups that you can join such as Drama, Craft, Art and many more. So what are you waiting for? Come along to a meeting and learn more.
